come to stay

During the week I welcomed some new arrivals to our household.  I was so very excited when they arrived and I have decided to let them stay as long as they like.

This is the brother and sister who bought their own wicker chairs.

My creation
Aren't their hand stitched faces exquisite?

And there was also this young lady...

...who arrived without any pants.  I have set myself the task to make her some new ones very soon.

Isn't she adorable?

Etsy: Green32f

I don't know about you but if I'm given the chance, I can spend a very long time on Etsy browsing the wonderful creations on there. With so many inspiring crafts people with shops full of amazing creations, you could just keep going from one link to another adding more to your favourites or credit card.

On one such day when I was on maternity leave, I stumbled across the amazing dolls created by Green32f. For those of you that haven't discovered her, her one-eyed dolls are incredibly colourful, fun, full of character and inspiring. I thought after earlier posting one of the ugliest dolls I have ever seen I should actually share Green32f's dolls on here for a bit of a contrast. I don't actually own one of her dolls (yet) mainly because they are all so amazing I find it extremly difficult to choose. I figure that when the right one comes along I won't be able to resist!

She doesn't have a huge variety on show at the moment so make sure you check out her sales. Some of my particular favourites are:

Helen (photo above)
Brenda & I'm particularly enamoured by Sleepy Jean...

Ugly Dolls

I was browsing ebay today and came across this doll for sale. I am astounded by her make-up and lashes. Is she amazing or is it just me?

Words and Pictures - Collecting

I collect ugly dolls.  You know, the kind of dolls that no-one wants because they're a bit disheveled, unattractive or a bit on the tacky side.  I can't seem to pass by a dirty faced gaze from the bottom of an op-shop bargain bin.  They cry out to me, "I want to be loved" and I reply "Don't worry, I will love you".  Then the old lady behind the counter looks at me funny, hurriedly collects my money hoping I will leave her shop as soon as possible.  =D
