the little engine that did

DSC05046

I didn't think I could do it.  I thought it would be too hard.  I thought I simply wouldn't have the time.  But I did do it and I can't believe it.

I OPENED AN ETSY SHOP!!

Yep, that's right. I finally did it.  I now have a place to sell the jug covers I am so addicted to making. I am so glad I have done it too.  I was beginning to wonder what on earth I was going to do with them all.  But now there is a place for them.  A little outlet in cyberspace.  You can see the little linky gallery thing at the top of my left side-bar. It's so exciting.

In all honesty it's not as perfect as I would have liked but I am very limited by time at the moment.  The commercial purists out there may scoff as the image you project is very important - but apart from not being driven when it comes to selling, I also didn't want to sit in the proscrastinators hole that I often find myself in.  At least this way I can learn from my mistakes and improve things as I go.  Banners are easy enough to change and my photography can improve!

So if you have the time,  please go and take a look and tell me what you think.  I am very open to your suggestions and advice.

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

Hooray! Remind me to take a leaf out of your book sometime. Am currently up to the eyeballs in tea towels and whatnot and it's all that boring set-up that is stopping me. Er, as well as a hole of procrastination.

Good for you!

I think your photos are lovely and homey. IMHO the photo you've used for the mulberry pink cover works best, as far as angle, sizing and clarity go. It shows the item very well in its natural setting.

I'm with Jennie, I like the homey photos (read 'real', not 'frumpy'!).

Oh, and I just made a purchase :)

Look at you with two sales already!

I'm really glad you opened the shop. The jug covers are beautiful and unique and deserve a space out there.

I felt the same way about just getting started. I spent a lot of time preparing, but I finally realized I could prepare forever and I just needed to do it. (And I quite like your banner.)

This is great news! So many times, I have missed out on opportunities by waiting for things to look "perfect". Your shop is great and I really love your photos. I will definitely be interested in buying a jug cover once I have moved and settled into my new place :)

Congratulations Mel, the shop looks great. I remember when I first started reading your blog you talked about the etsy shop being something you'd like to do one day. So big up to you!
