I have finally found some time to sit down and blog! Yay! And I will thank Bernie Eccelstone for giving me this time tonight.  If it wasn't for the telecast of the grand prix I would be in the lounge room folding washing in front of the television.  But because the boys want to watch the grand prix I am happily sacrificing the folding of the himalayan sized pile of washing to another night this week. =) Yes, I know.  Mothers and wives do so much for their families...

I'd firstly like to take some time to say thank you for all the lovely comments I have received about my creative space this week.  There have been so many and I wish there was an easier way to say thank you personally.  Unfortunately I still haven't figured out how to email back a response to those who have their email enabled.  It probably sounds silly as I am actually quite tech savvy, it's just that I haven't had a lot of time to sit down and sort out the finer nuances of blogspot yet.  I really like the way JS kits works but I haven't had the time to play around with and install it either so until I do I will be limited to mass style thankings.

So what has been happening over the last few days?  Let's see...

• I finished the giveaway day in may scarf.  Yep.  A marathon knitting effort. It's about 170cm long too.  And I did very special things to it so it's even more special than the one I made myself.  Pop by on the 27 May (Wednesday) and it will be on display, waiting for someone to win it!
• I went to the Sonny and Coco market.  It was very busy!  Lot's and lot's of stalls and lot's of beautiful arts and crafts too.  
• And last but by no means least, I discovered (and then purchased) the item below when I went to Clegs on Friday (not to mention the ridiculous amount of other stuff I bought but let's not go there)....
  

It's a lap magnifier!  I know that for some of you it will probably seem like I've been living in the dark ages, but I can honestly say I have never seen one of these before.  I am so excited! It was as though it was calling me; like it was written in the starrs.  I was only talking about needing a contraption like this to Kirsty at Kootoyoo the other day.  It's amazing! Blindness by fine crochet is a now a thing of the past.  My only dilemma is wondering how tram commuters will react to it?  Do you think I'd look like a freak if I used it on the tram?

A perfect Sunday afternoon (even if though toast was slightly burnt) topped off with a perfect Sunday night...

My husband bought this from Ikea to form part of a platter of goodies for our night in front of the telly watching Eurovision.  It was a great night.  I think this year my 3 favourites were Moldova, Turkey, Greece and the Ukraine (I particularly loved her Roman soldier dancers).  *Sigh* time to go to bed and prepare myself for yet another working week...

Sunday Mornings

It's Sunday again. =) Sunday's for me usually comprises of a slow lazy start and a cooked breakfast. This morning Ivy and I decided to make scrambled eggs. She was very good at stirring the mixture and everything was going well until I burnt the toast and the smoke alarms went off. Always a comedy of errors at our place!

Following breakfast I decided I'd do some drawing and decided to come on here to post it. Ivy asked me to draw her and in the end the only resemblance would be the hair and the button face but she is still very pleased!

I got the inspiration to draw this from one of my favourite books called "A Friend is Someone Who Likes You" by Joan Walsh Anglund. The illustrations are just beautiful but the story is also very sweet. I read it so often when I was a kid that I knew it off by heart but I have to say the memory hasn't held up!!
