Well I'm back from a few days at the beach. It was so nice and relaxing just being the 'three' of us for a change. It's not the older two are any problem, it actually didn't matter which child came with us. It's the fact that we were three instead of five and that means less compromise and more space. It was lovely.
We went for walks to the beach where Matthew and Ivy played chicken with the waves...

...and lost...

and I crocheted while they built castles...

...and watched out for sea monsters (Well I thought it looked like one)...

and op-shopped...
and crocheted some more...

It was a perfect weekend in everyway. Hope you all had a good one too.

Sounds and looks like a lovely, well rounded weekend. We also had just one kid for the day on Sunday and loved being able to fucus on her. Loving that tower of crochet squares, I'm wondering if Ivy pushed it over after the photo was taken.
Maybe it is not a sea monster Mel..... but in fact a killer hairy porcupine! On his holidays of course! Chele
P.S. Your wuppets look a bit chilly!
Sounds completely blissful! Gorgeous shots!!
It was a lovely weekend and yes, Miss Ivy pushed that tower over straight after the photo was taken. We rebuilt it a number of times and each time it received the same fate. I love the way they love repeating something 20 times over!
It is a bit porcupine like. I have a fairy book some where and I am sure there is a picture of a spiky looking fairy in it. Might have to drag it out and take a look! And yes, it was chilly that day. That beach faces south towards Tassy so it gets the antarctic breeze.
Thanks Alisa
I love going to the beach at Blairgowerie. My grandparents had a holiday house there when we were kids. My uncle has one now as well so we occassionally get to go know, with my own kids! I love everything that your images evoke, and all your opped goodies (from Rye?)
The back beach at Blairgowrie is beautiful (where this shot is taken). We absolutely love going there.
The opped goodies are actually from the oppy at Blair and two oppies in Sorrento. We popped down to Sorrento to take Ivy to the awesome fort playground on top of the hill. It's great!
Lovely post Melanie. You and those wuppets - sensational!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time away.

That Antarctic breeze certainly chills us first on the way to the Peninsula.
Love that puzzle! And all those granny squares.
I was so excited when I found that puzzle. It's so sweet! And yes the antarctic breeze can be quite piercing can't it? such a lovely place to get away to though, even when it's cold.
