Composition

DSC02749

What I love about children's drawings is their composition.  They are so natural and unrestrained when they draw that they are always able to make a page (or blackboard) look exciting.  This is one of Ivy's drawings that she did last night.  I love its simplicity.  I love where she placed the panel of colours.   I wish there was a way I could preserve this ability in her and undo all the conditioning in myself.  Wouldn't that be great?

Oh yes yes YES wouldn't that be great?! I so wish that for my children (and for myself) as well. How do we do it? ;)

Oh dear I don't know. I think we have to start with left brain/right brain stuff like life drawing without looking at the page...it's very hard... =(

My daughter(20 months)is drawing straight lines as well in the far right corner!and I thought is quite curious..I'd love to know why..

how interesting that c.raf.t's daughter makes the same drawings.
I am in awe of little one's drawings for the reasons you have mentioned and so much more, magic really aren't they. I spent some time riding in the backseat of a car with a 5 year old a few weeks back and the paper and textas we had made a 2 hr trip fly!
