My Creative Space

My Creative Space

My creative space this week is less than exciting.  I have been rather busy so I haven't got much done in the sense of creativity.

I am chipping away at a starrberry beret for my daughter's creche teacher.  She has purchased the wool and I am doing the crocheting.  It's a good arrangement.  I like it.

I am also about to embark on crocheting another starrberry beret for Kylie who was the winning entrant of my giveaway.  Kylie would like one in grey and I happen to have some lovely grey wool in my collection though you can't tell it's grey in the morning light.  Sorry Kylie!

I haven't managed to get anything further done to my red patch apart from the red crochet piece you can see pictured.  I managed to whip this up at the Northside Makers get together on Sunday.  If you live in the north of Melbourne you should definitely consider becoming a member!

Make sure you pop in over here and take a look at other creative spaces.  There are a lot of clever people out there!

I keep on scrolling up to look at the little red piece again. It's got me facinated! It's so pretty and neat and compact. What weight yarn and hook size have you used?

Thank you Linda for your encouraging words too.  And I'm glad you like my berets!

It's actually top stitch cotton crocheted with a 1.75mm hook.  It's pretty fine but I like using it better than the shiny fine crochet cotton as it has grip.

Thank you!

<p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">I'm excited about your beret too.  The photo above doesn't do the grey any justice at all. It is a beautiful grey which is why I bought it.  I didn't even have any plans for it!  I love grey too.  But I only have 1 ball of it and will need another trip back to the yarn shop.  I will see if there is a darker colour grey for you.

I'm flattered that you are addicted Tania.  I think it's the biggest compliment I've had.  The fact you are using the pattern, enjoying the pattern and addicted to the pattern means you are going through exactly what I am going through when i make them.  I'm really excited by that.  Is that too corny?

Nup. Not only that but yours was the first real crochet anything I have
tried. (ok, except for a hatlet thing that didn't really work). Thanks to
you, I feel like I am earning some nana stripes! Have even threatened to
furnish the Mr in a Starrberry...

That yarn looks yummy! I have promised the same deal for my sister - if she buys the yarn I will make her a crochet ripple rug. Your square is looking very sweet. (I have that red fabric on the girl on the left.)
Have fun :)

Oh thank you.  That's a lovely thing to say!  It takes a bit of practice but once you start you can't stop
