the quilt project...

the quilt project

Just thought I'd share a really lovely and useful website with some red work information for those of you that are part of the quilt project and like me, have never seriously embroidered before.

Lisette from Textile Seahorse sent me the link to this website which gives you a brief history of red work and quite an extensive range of stitch tutorials which are very easy to follow.

The website is Rock Sea and Sarah and the link to the red work can be found here here. I'm dying to start sewing!

Have a good weekend peoples! I am up for a rather busy big one...whimper...have been asked to whip up a batch of my sausage rolls for my best friend's parte (little accenty thing above the 'e') and I'm using pork and fennel mince this time round. I will let you know how they go...

I have a spare red skeiny thingy if you want it?  If you email me your address I'll pop it in the mail?

That's a very kind offer Melanie... given that I'm not entirely decided on my medium, I'll hold off (I still have half a thingy!) but if I do need it I'll holler! Thank you.
So are you still planning to incorporate some knitting/crochet into yours?

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on my tag skirt.  And that's how I came around your blog too.  Will try to see what you are up to as time permits since I am in the middle of a house move.

Yes am still planning crochet and knitting as part of the piece.  If it doesn't look good it will look interesting!
