I'm not very organised this week so I can't say it looks like a particularly interesting creative space. I am collating bits and pieces to begin what I call a yarn diary. I want to record samples of the yarns I am using for different projects and keep a simple diary of what I have made, how successful it was and whether the yarn was suitable etc... I got the idea after making so many beret's and discovering how different the beret turns out depending on what yarn you use. The weight, texture and size of the hook can change the look and feel quite dramatically.
I have also put my name down to design a page in a 2010 diary. Thea, from Thea & Sami, posted about it last week and I jumped on the chance to do it. The only hitch is that I have to have it finished by the 1st of August and therefore have quite a significant amount of work to do. The music book you see in the photo is my new sketch book. I thought it would be nice to draw on music paper for a change.
But if you want to know what my week was really taken up with and want to look at something spectacular then you should check out my post from yesterday. Much more exciting and colourful!

The book sounds like a useful idea. Please show us a page when you start to fill it in.
Hey it looks cool, I love the green theme.
A great space. The music book looks great.
What a lovely idea to have a music book as a sketchbook!
I have the same pair of pink moleskins, they are the first I ever owned and I am loving them!!!
Today is still Wed. 29th for us and my son turned seventeen! It is so brilliantly fun to watch them grow up! Happy Birthday (it still Wed, here, I am allowed) to your lovely girlie!
Annamaria
Mmmmm love a fresh new book and pens - like the first day of school with new supplies! Fantastic idea to keep a log book of this Mel and the music book is a stroke of genius!
A yarn diary! What a brilliant idea.
What an amazing photo! When I first saw it I thought it was under water!! How did you do that? Looks so fab. Good luck with your journal entry!! :) K
I am moderately concerned about the fact I am getting credit for a photo effect that was not deliberate!! LOL My old mobile phone died and it had a great camera on it. My new one is pretty crappy hence the green hue.
The green theme is thanks to my crap camera on my new mobile phone. My old phone had an awesome camera but unfortunately it died.
Thank you. Will definitely show you when I've filled it in.
Thanks Annamaria! Happy birthday right back at your 17 yo! Did I make it time?
Thanks Michelle!
Aww thanks Mel. Much appreciated on the genius bit.
The yarn journal sounds like a great idea.
The dolls is absolutely beautiful. Well done you!
Oooh, another deadline. Good luck! Taking the week off from must-complete projects next week?
I like the idea of the yarn journal. I am a bit boring with my wool purchases in that I just do love to use 8ply - although I have come to that conclusion by using 12 ply and finding it very thick. Am yet to use a smaller ply though, but want to make a few baby things for friends (who are expecting) when I get through more of my blanket. your daughter's doll is beautiful - is she just thrilled?!
the yarn diary sounds like a great idea ~ always wondered how u make one without it getting too thick! your daughter is so cute! great doll too :)
such a great to have a yarn journal I have seen some quilt ones and it's a great idea
Hello wuppets, I see you!
The yarn journal is a great idea and I can't wait to see what you come up with for the diary project. It sounds like fun! :)
I thought you had set up the picture and then changed the hue settings in Photoshop. Looks really pretty anyway.
I love that book
thanks Kirsty. Had lot's of fun making her. Just need to get into making some clothes for her...
Absolutely although I did sign up for Kirsty's quilt project
Nothing boring about using the same ply!! I have a horrid memory and I thought I should record what i make etc... so I don't repeat the same problems down the track!
As for the doll...I don't know if she's too thrilled but I think once i have made clothes things might improve. The things you do for love ;)
I like the idea of using the music pages for a journal. It would be neat to see how you make use of it.
Who can resist some beautiful notebooks and a pack of pens!
