They finally arrived after much anticipation. Eight books from the Complete Encyclopedia of Crafts which is an extraordinary collection of 1970's craft ideas and 'how to'. I bought these particular copies from my friend Rosemoo's etsy shop as she was offering them at a price that I couldn't resist. These books are very special and there is a bit of tale behind their travels, but I won't go into that today. Please see some highlights below...

A legume mosaic...

and I loved this crocheted skirt although this is a chapter about natural dyes and not crochet...

Hey I know your a skirt girl, you going to have a go?
that feathered cape is sooomething else!
oh a feathered cape! I'd love one! and of course no 70's craft book would be complete without something made out of legumes. What a divine set, I bet you'll have hours of fun out of these (and choosing what to make!)
That feathered cape is something else...
Finally, a tutorial for a feathered cape. I mean really. Books these days just have so many crafts I can't use.
:)
Wow! What a special special find - I'm reeking green envy bits! And yes, you're right - I want that feather cape! Thanks for sharing this. K
oppps, baby on my lap, forgot to put my details in! :)
A bright green feathered cape! Just what I needed! And I love those colourful potholders, very cute!
i need a feathered cape - in black of course, not green. but i really really need one - the sooner the better
I am so tempted. I think I'll attempt a skirt for the 2 yo first and see how i go from there!
It is indeed. It's kind of spooky
I'll be sure to send you my lentil sunset...
LOL! I wonder if anyone has actually ever made the cape?
Yeah the pot holders are cute. There were so many things I could have taken photos of in the book... might send some through soon
Well that does it. I will have to post a feathered cape tutorial! We can meet one night at a bar and flock together!
I'm so glad that the books arrived safely!! I was biting my nails worried. They got packed sort of fishily at the last minute.
YAY for books!
