long weekends...

Phillip Island
You can't help but love them - long weekends.  I spent mine down at Phillip Island at my grandmother's old house.  It was lovely to spend a few days by the beach despite the cold weather.  I took lots of photos, you can view them here if you like but it's ok if you don't want to.

I also went to a garage sale and the Cowes Sunday Trash 'n' Treasure which was the most interesting trash 'n' treasure I have been to for quite sometime.  Here are all the goodies I brought home with me...

I also did heaps of crochet.  In fact I did so much crochet that I have strained my thumb and it really hurts!  The main culprit was this little fella but he was worth every stitch...

Mini Amirugumi Bunny

I can honestly say that I probably won't ever make another miniature amirugumi anything.  As much as I enjoyed the challenge there were moments when it was absolute torture.  Apart from the size factor and all the associated hazards that go with that, it was actually the decreasing process of the crochet that really killed me.  It became so difficult to see what I was doing and because it was so small I had to stuff it early or else I would never have been able to fit the stuffing in later on.  I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it was but I soldiered through it and ended up with  very a cute rabbit and the strained thumb!

Aww but isn't he cute?  I think I'll forgive him. = D

Did you all have a good weekend too?

That rabbit is gorgeous! Definitely worth every stitch. But I can see why you don't plan another... what an intense crafting process that must have been!

Glad you had a nice weekend. Now rest up that thumb lady!

Soooo gorgeous! Loved reading your post - visit to granny and all. I miss mine. Also, there's something about seeing the ocean every so often that is just so necessary, don't you think? Lovely lovely lovely... Thanks for this. K

I spent every summer (and lots of the bleak 'Wuthering Heights' style winters) in Cowes - up until I travelled to Europe. While I was away our lovely house was sold under my feet! (ok it wasn't exactly mine). It's a little pricey to go back to visit these days as it's a gorgeous B&B but that one shot of that sea brought EVERYTHING flooding back...

Meant to say (before I got carried away) that bunny of yours was worth every stitch - once you're forgotten about your tortured thumb!
