I also went to a garage sale and the Cowes Sunday Trash 'n' Treasure which was the most interesting trash 'n' treasure I have been to for quite sometime. Here are all the goodies I brought home with me...
I also did heaps of crochet. In fact I did so much crochet that I have strained my thumb and it really hurts! The main culprit was this little fella but he was worth every stitch...
I can honestly say that I probably won't ever make another miniature amirugumi anything. As much as I enjoyed the challenge there were moments when it was absolute torture. Apart from the size factor and all the associated hazards that go with that, it was actually the decreasing process of the crochet that really killed me. It became so difficult to see what I was doing and because it was so small I had to stuff it early or else I would never have been able to fit the stuffing in later on. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it was but I soldiered through it and ended up with very a cute rabbit and the strained thumb!
Aww but isn't he cute? I think I'll forgive him. = D
Did you all have a good weekend too?

That rabbit is gorgeous! Definitely worth every stitch. But I can see why you don't plan another... what an intense crafting process that must have been!
Aaaaargh Melanie he is sooo cute but man, he does look like he would have tried the patience of a saint! I love his little light house spot too!
Glad you had a nice weekend. Now rest up that thumb lady!
oh how cute is he...
so sweet and well worth it...
I can imagine how hard it was to make...and stuffing even harder...
amazing!!!
Soooo gorgeous! Loved reading your post - visit to granny and all. I miss mine. Also, there's something about seeing the ocean every so often that is just so necessary, don't you think? Lovely lovely lovely... Thanks for this. K
oh that bunny is freakin ADORABLE! hope your thumb feels better soon :)
I spent every summer (and lots of the bleak 'Wuthering Heights' style winters) in Cowes - up until I travelled to Europe. While I was away our lovely house was sold under my feet! (ok it wasn't exactly mine). It's a little pricey to go back to visit these days as it's a gorgeous B&B but that one shot of that sea brought EVERYTHING flooding back...
Meant to say (before I got carried away) that bunny of yours was worth every stitch - once you're forgotten about your tortured thumb!
wow I admire your patience and persistence against thumb straining odds! Does your little rabbit have a name?
he is so cute! ages I started little tiny elephant and his parts are still in my hidden drawer somewhere because I didn`t have enough patience... I will have to finish this little creature one day...
x
It sounds like you had a fabulous weekend, and such great finds, at the garage sale. I am incredibly jealous of your embroidery hoops! I love the crochet bunny, its so cute.
Beautiful neat tiny stitches, wow. There's something about all things miniature which is appealing. Lovely bunny.
Very cute and a lovely colour. Well done!
Ooh, you have to forgive him, after all if you don't who's going to look after the lighthouse. Hope your thumb is feeling better.
