It's funny. This week I had a bit of an 'ahh-ha' moment. I suddenly realised that all the craft I have been doing of late is either knitted or crocheted. That probably doesn't sound too bad but it's kind of strange for me because I have always thought of myself as more of a sewer. I'm not that great a knitter. I can plain and purl and it pretty much ends there. I have never knitted anything except scarves. I think it's so strange I am in a knitting/crochet space at the moment considering it is one of my weakest skills. It has me quite perplexed!
Regardless, I am not fighting this strange phenomenomonomomen and 'going with the flow baby'. Being an all rounder definitely has it's advantages and I can never grow too bored with things. I am having lots of fun experimenting and are loving my blue sparkly yarn. Such a great find. I am crocheting little yo-yo thingies with the intention of embedding them in a fringe on a scarflet. I can't wait to see where this all ends up.
Don't forget to check out all the other great spaces
here...oh and have a great day!

I dont knit or crochet just sew and craft so good to see you have moved to the other side, gives me hope
Good on you for going with the flow...I find the wintery weather lends itself to wooly projects, for me anyway. I'm a novice knitter/crochet but have found that the practice does pay off. I see a slight improvement in my projects since last season.
Yes, yes...go with the flow.
It looks so beautiful - can't wait to see the scarflet! I consider myself more of a sewer too and yet haven't done any sewing for ages... this may be about to change though! I just saw "Coco Avant Chanel" this morning and now all I want to do is sew!!! Pity about my other works in progress ;) K
Glad to see you preserving the modesty of your Wuppets! Man those guys crack me up.
Tee hee hee - I love your little wuppets finally having a way to get a little warm this winter. Honestly, it must be very embarressing for Mr. Wuppet being cold.
oh, that wool is so pretty - what lovely little scarflets it will make!
lol, I love the bashful minnie me's, seems boobs are ok. This one will make me laugh all night (and maybe into tomorrow!!) Thanks xx
Geez Mel you seem like you've been knitting/crocheting for years! I think you're a natural. I am sh*t scared of knitting - the patterns alone freak me right out (too many numbers for a non-maths girl like me!) and have only ever knitted scarves. And even then on size ten needles to get it done faster!
Loving the blue sparkly wool. Must be nice to look at while you work.
The sparkling op shop wool is looking beautiful. I love the wuppets' placing this week, it is just hilarious!
those yo yop things looks so pretty, I can't wait to see them on your scarflets
Pretty sparkly wool!
I'm loving your little wuppets everywhere... and that in this post they are 'wearing' thir own little balls of wool. Very cute!
I've found I go through stages - but can never do both simultaneously! Loving the texture and pattern of your sparkly blue scarf...
It's fun and portable and easy once you start. (so she says but she's never knitted from a pattern!)
You're right. I can honestly say I have developed a good consistant tension with my knitting. It's all down to practice!
Yes, the flow is good
OOO i want to see that. Will have to organise a girly night!
They still make me laugh too! Funny things that they are!
Yes it is pretty. A lucky find
Boobs are ok and such fun to sew! I giggled all the way through them. Mind you, sewing the male appendages made me laugh more!
I like your size 10 style. Have done that many a time. But thank you for saying such nice things about my knitting.
Thank you. I intend to post them every week and nearly always forget!
I will post the finished product soon... I hope!
Thank you!
thank you! I definitely go through stages. Time limits also play a huge factor in what I do. Being able to do something in front of the TV where it's warm and cosy certainly helps the knitting/crocheting cause!
Tis the season for opshop yarn finds isn't it? I have found some great yarn lately too. Love the blue.
I can only knit scarves too, but find I can inderstand crochet so much better. But I think knitting will be my next challenge! :)
I am the same I am not a knitter just lots of scarves but I am doing a lot lately and TYRING desperately to teach myself granny squares but am failing miserably, your crochet is wonderful
Maybe we should take the plunge together? I'd love to try something new...
Oh Linda! What's going wrong with the granny squares? Can I help at all?
oh thank you, you are so sweet, I'm not sure what's going wrong with the
granny squares, I am all thumbs to start with, but last time I had a go I
had a feeling I am missing a chain before I start, after joining the ring!!
does that make any sense, but even though I thought this could be it I was
ready to throw it down in another tantrum and I haven't picked it up again.
I know I should give it another go, I'm sure I will.....soonish
thanks for your offer
hugs
Linda
