my creative space

Crochet stack super

This is the entire stack of the granny squares I've made so far taken over a series of 3 pictures which I've joined together.  It's a shame I was hurrying and didn't get the background to match but it's quite an effective way of showing how large it's growing!

Here's another photo as proof...

Don't they look cool all sandwiched together like that?  I love playing with them.

Yes, I'm still grannying along at the moment.  I have a couple of other projects I'm keen on doing that are forming in my head and hopefully they'll come to the fore shortly.

Otherwise my week has been absorbed in grannys, blogtoberfest and the word of the day which I'm having a lot of fun with.

Make sure you drop by and visit Kirsty and the other creative spacers...

Looks so good all piled up like that. Are you darning the ends in as you go? Have I asked you that before? i can't remember.

Yes Kate I am definitely darning the ends in as I go and I have you to thank for that.  You asked me if I was doing it a couple of weeks back and I hadn't been doing it.  I decided I should take your advice so sat for two nights darning in the ends of the ones I'd already finished.  I am now crocheting in the ends as I go and finish each one completely before I start the next.

Yay! Good for you! I find I am great at finishing the rugs and
crocheting them together but unless I darn as I go there is no way I
will ever get back to it. A friend's Mum recently suggested I tie
beads onto all the tails of a blankie I made earlier this year!! I'll
probably ask you again in a couple of weeks and then again after that.
Did I tell you my Mum wrote a book about Alzheimer's...aahhhhh.

Wow, what an impressive stack! and what an impressive photo (I thought my computer was doing that 'freeze and drag the picture thingy it does sometimes") My that is definately a lot of work. Is it still growing? Does it have an end?

Your tower of grannies looks amazing.  I think the smalls at my place would have sent them flying pretty quickly.

The colours you are using are beautiful - they look fabulous stacked up like that.

I am very envious to see such a stack (I think I still only have 12 squares after a whole year of crochet!!!). How many do you have to go before finishing?

I love your granny square stack, so bright and colourful. Don't ask me why, but it makes me think of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
