Day 1 - word of the day

word of the day - 1.10.09

My first word of the day is quite apt.  I am indeed inspired today.  I am inspired by the thought of thinking creatively about words I see in my environment and I hope they also inspire you too!

Why I hear you ask?  Because at the end of the month as part of Blogtoberfest I will be holding a giveaway.  I have decided I am going to crochet a tea-cosy for the lucky winner (more on this soon).  All you will have to do is pick ten words from the pool of 31 (hopefully I don't forget a day!) and write a crafty poem.  I must give a special thank you to CurlyPops for that idea!.  The winner will then be drawn randomly on Sunday the 8th of November and I am more than happy to post internationally.

I have also created a flickr pool for those of you that want to join in on the word of the day too.  I think a pool of words all together would look pretty cool don't you?  If you can't join in on word of the day why don't you think about doing a word a week?  If all goes well over this month, I'm thinking I might post a word a week as a regular thing too.

Make sure you check out everyone else who's participating in Blogtoberfest too!

Sometimes I think "blog" could be substitued for "inspire".

Hmm, a creative space of a different sort. Sounds interesting. RE: Nikki's comment, I agree however 'blog' just doesn't have the same ring to it as 'inspire' does. ;)

I can't wait to try a bit of poetry - I really sucked at it when I was at school!

Oooo how exciting! And inspiring ;)  I would LOVE to win an M* tea cosy but far OUT I have absolutely no poetic ability what-so-ever! BUT for a tea cosy I am willing to give it a crack!

LOL the beauty of this giveaway is that you don't have to be a poet to win it.  I am drawing the winner randomly.  I am no poet either so could hardly judge a good piece if I saw it!!

Very true Nikki.  It I hadn't started blogging this year, I would never have made as much as I have.  My craft and blogging are intrinsically linked

LOL!  I sucked at poetry too.  Glad I'm holding the giveaway and don't have to write one myself.

Just looking through and realised I missed this one too! These senior moments are getting greater in frequency ;)
This looks fun... very pleased that it's random too! Poetry not my strong point at all... Will check in again on words at end of month. k

What a great idea ... and this time I'm writing down the competition because I can't find another Blogtoberfest comp that looked cool.

Does anybody remember the making something that resembles joy competition. If somebody knows can they please point me in the right direction. Thanks for helping
